I Wonder...

A recent arranged marriage proposal, mind you very much rejected, and Brava Valentia's recent post, along with endless hours of watching The Insider and Inside Edition got my brain ticking and some of its cob-webs to clear away.

How is it that women who undergo epidurals are more prone to baby-blues than women who opt to go au-naturel? Am I the only one who's noticed the correlation here?

Think about it. Having a bun baking in your oven for 9 months, then suddenly you wake up, "happily" pain free, as if nothing had happened, yet your baby bump is missing, you find yourself mentally, subconsciously unprepared if you will, for the "loss" of this integral part of your body is sure to leave anyone somewhat depressed and disturbed.

Doesn't it then make sense, that your body would want you to experience birthing pain, and feel every moment of the labor, as to prepare you emotionally, and prepare your mind for the fact that this baby is no longer physically a part of you?

I think u shud definately feel every bit of pain, cuz thats what makes each birth special. I had no medication whatsoever with both of my kids and I dont regret it at all. Maybe during the labor itself i thought abt it, but i knew it wasnt the healthy thing to do and now that I look back, I wud not have done it differently no matter how bad it hurts. And I still want more kids, but I am terrified of the pain. U simply forget everything once u hold that baby in ur arms.... its beautiful

nonowa... you're one hell of a tough cookie arent you? i wish more women could be like you, and see it as a beautiful thing, instead of fretting about it. i'm sure the pain some women feel is all psychological, they think they're be hurting, and their brains trick them into believing it. but who i am to judge, im still childless :">

eshda3wa... eshda3wa!! if it was that bad humanity would've ceased to exist pre-epidural LOL!!!!

you wanna know what I think? I'll tell you anyway..

I think God made giving birth that painful, disgusting and ugly so that when a woman experiences it once she'll know how hurtful it is and NOT do it again, I do not like how the process goes, I think it's a weird idea.

o bs

lol i think Tom Cruise would love u for this :p

i can imagine him saying "My Katie is only depressed because i'm being too possessive with her, not because of the baby blues.. she didn't take any drugs while giving birth to Suri, she just suffered the pain silently.. Brook Sheilds however.. she just HAD to take those drugs, didn't she? if she didn't take the drugs before child birth, she wouldn't have needed any while going through her baby blues!"

this post makes so much sense now :p
